Sometimes.....on days like today..... it's enough to look at a spectacular, beautiful photograph of Saturday night's sunset as a reminder of all of the wondrous things on this incredible earth. Sometimes....on days like today.... it's comforting to see the continuous line of the sun's rays reflected in a receding surf from the horizon to the photographer's feet - proof that sunlight can still reach each one of us from the greatest distance. Sometimes....on days like today.... it's enough to have a breathtaking picture to see one more time....in a different way from when I first saw it....a picture that demands and holds my attention not just by virtue of it's intrinsic beauty....but because the sun was captured just before it's about to disappear. In that moment, there's a reminder that it will reappear as it always does. Or as it should. Sometimes it's enough.....but on days like today....it's not. I wish it was.
